My apologies to Representative Nancy Barto for any untoward effects of my previous posting of Numbers USA notification for Arizonans to “blast” their representatives that did not support anti-sanctuary legislation.
Since whatever is posted on the Internet is always archived and available somewhere, I have been in a quandry as to how to remedy this situation. With that in mind, I am posting Rep. Nancy Barto’s comments into the main body of my blog and I am asking that folks refrain from blasting Nancy Barto with email.
Here are Rep. Nancy Barto’s comments:
Unfortunately, you only have half the story. The rest is always the most interesting.
What you don’t know is that all Republicans voted in SUPPORT of a better Sanctuary bill two years in a row. These efforts were thwarted this year by Sen. Russell Pearce, and last year the Sanctuary bill that passed was vetoed by Gov. Napolitano. It is unconscienable to label conservatives like myself and others who opposed Pearce’s poorly drafted, complicated, and mandate-heavy bill, as open borders liberals when we have supported many many other measures over the years including: employer sanctions, denying public benefits for illegals, bond for those who commit serious offenses, supported border security and National Guard action on the border and others too numerous to mention.
It’s also untrue that HB 2280 had a hearing before it was final voted in the House on the last night of session. It was a striker on another bill that had a hearing in the House. They knew there wasn’t support for this poor legislation, so it never received a formal hearing in the House. Unfortunately, Pearce killed a really good Sanctuary bill in order to promote his own bill.
Again, my humble apologies.

“Public Education” has been totally compromised in this country. Education in the USA has been nothing more than indoctrination and “brain washing” for decades.
You need to let the system die. The current system of “public indoctrination” you mistakenly call “public education” has resulted in the “dumbing down” of all us. Few can think clearly. Almost no one can think independently. We’ve lost the capacity to think critically.
It’s all because of the great centralized screw job we foist off on an unsuspecting public calling it “public education” when all this brain washing system has done is contributed to our demise and the miserable state we are experiencing. We are enslaved in our minds and have lost our most precious capacity for freedom.
But wait, there’s more. These are the “good days” and what is coming will be far worse than anything you can imagine.
Therefore, pull the plug on this bastard child mistakenly called “education.” Let free enterprise in education have half a fighting chance. We might again be able to produce fighting men and women, citizens who can think critically and analyze accurately.

We need honesty in leadership and governance and Jan Brewer is incapable of any!
Let me explain why:
Governor Brewer is a Democrat in disguise. Jan Brewer maintains the Napolitano legacy. She has become merely an extension of the Janet Napolitano Administration.
Allow to speak from my area of expertise.
Since the advent of “The Great Society” more than 40 years ago, the research over the decades demonstrated clearly programs like “Head Start” do not work. The benefits of “Head Start” are completely gone by fourth grade and children drop out of high school at the same rate as when there is no “Head Start.” “Head Start” does not change outcomes. The high school drop out rate remains unchanged!
Indeed, programs like “Head Start” cost us, in terms of money and in terms of poorer outcomes for children. Likewise, full day Kindergarten is totally ineffective. True, it is state funded childcare but studies have long shown that there is no net benefit from Kindergarten.
Moreover, children who attend Kindergarten do not do as well as those who stay at home with mom. Studies show children who remain in the home with their mothers do better intellectually and experience better life outcomes than those who attend Kindergarten.
So, rather than face facts demonstrated across time in repeated studies, Jan Brewer has decried to continue the Napolitano legacy and folly.
So, Brewer decided that Arizona will take the dope, the drugs, will take the one-time “Bail Out” written specifically for Arizona by Secretary of Homeland Security Napolitano and place more burdens in perpetuity upon the backs of Arizonans!
Federal “Bail Out” money, federal “Stimulus Money” is neither. They are neither ‘bail out’ nor ‘stimulus’ but are added burden to a destroyed economy. They are nothing more than dope. It is STUPID.
It only has a narcotic effect:

The United State’s Declaration of Independence and the United State’s Constitution did not appear “magically” from God. Those documents and that blessing only occurred after a long hardship. They were preceded by a “revolution of virtue” that lasted 185 years. The spirit of virtue, valuing one’s self and one’s freedom culminated in the best & most rational form of government ever devised by man.
Many are shouting “only by returning to God, to the LORD will America be restored.” Hogwash! At best we’d reinvent The Grand Inquisition. There’d be so many religious nuts and so much religiosity; men would commit the most horrible atrocities in the name of God.
It all comes down to behavior. While we can not control our own minds, and we certainly cannot control what occurs in the minds of other men, we can observe & agree upon behavior. Besides, there needs to be room for dissent and freedom of the mind, and that requires healthy reflection, internally and externally.
Therefore, be it declared a New American Revolution. A Revolution of the Mind. A Revolution in Virtue.
Men alter their thinking to support their behavior.
Criminals rationalize their bad behaviors.
Now, how is this accomplished?
By valuing your self.
By valuing your word.
By honoring your word.
Real men will only give their word when they mean it. Moreover, real men only give their word when they know they are able to live up to it.
Therefore, we need to say “no” much more. We need to hear “no” much more often. And we need to accept hearing a man choosing and uttering “no” far more often.
Also, we need to recognize the lying thieves we’ve become as a society. “The government has turned us into a bunch of liars and thieves,” my neighbor from Texas via the North Slope declared.
We need to recognize the lying and thieving and, more importantly, we need to call it boldly what it is. We need to label it properly regardless of hurting feelings.
Why?
In order to get in touch with reality we need to stop denying reality. We need to stop “inventing reality” and stop making things up.
It’s time to stop acting like children and grow up. Children have the luxury of imagination. We don’t.
If you know of any business (And almost all corporations are involved in deceitful practice, deceit in their marketing and deceit in their contracts.) that practices deceit, walk away. Do not do business with them. Force them to become honest in their claims and accurate in their advertising. Make them live up to their words.
Walk away from any business or corporation that deceives in the slightest degree. Make them value their word. Make them value their public presentation. Or let them die.
If we individually start to value ourselves and our word, and we change our behavior by refusing to buy anything that is misrepresented in the slightest. And we refuse to patronize (Get a dictionary!) any business that lies, then we can begin to shut them down. We can begin making everyone honest. We can begin reclaiming our country and our heritage.
The only way to end the thieving, the madness and insanity is by telling the truth, being truthful to ourselves and by being truthful to each other.
Don’t you understand?
We are at War. We’ve been at War.
This is a battle for the mind.
It is a battle of the mind.

Attempts to attach mandatory E-Verify to the Stimulus Bill in March failed when 50 Senators voted to kill the amendment by tabling it. But today, 7 of those 50 came over to our side. Click to see which NumbersUSA activists from what states we should be thanking.
The vote today put the Senate on record as saying that returning military veterans and other unemployed Americans — not illegal aliens — should have government-paid jobs.
No. 2: View the full roll-call vote on Sen. Sessions’ amendment to mandate E-Verify for all federal contractors.
How did your 2 Senators vote?
This is the toughest most sweeping of Sessions’ amendments, all of which previously failed.
This one:
- authorizes E-Verify PERMANENTLY
- mandates that any business getting a federal contract must run all new hires through E-Verify
- mandates that every existing employee who workS on the government contracts must be run through E-Verify
Thus, for the first time, E-Verify could be used to root out illegal aliens who were previously hired. The existing employee part only applies to that part of a company actually working on the government contract. Still, wouldn’t it be nice to know that no illegal aliens are being paid with taxpayer money?
No. 3: Which 6 Democrats defied Party leadership to vote for E-Verify in March and did it again today?
Hint: 5 are from states that partly or wholly are the Great Plains. Here they are.

Included is my salute to Senate Republicans who unanimously went against Big Business and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. How about that? I’m sure many didn’t want to vote with us, but voter pressure in their states has pushed them into becoming champions for American workers.

No. 4: More phone calls needed Thursday for 2 more amendments.

Our NumbersUSA legislative team is updating by the hour the progress of voting on DHS appropriations amendments.
As I write this, we are still waiting for votes on an amendment by Sen. Grassley (R-Iowa) and Sen. Vitter (R-La.).
Grassley’s amendment would allow every employer in America to voluntarily run all their current employees through E-Verify to make sure that none are illegal foreign workers. Right now, it is illegal for an employer to do that. Can you believe it?
Vitter’s amendment would re-instate a Bush Administration rule that businesses get notified of all their employees whose Social Security numbers don’t match up with SSA records. This would be another way of driving illegal aliens out of their jobs.
It appears that Senate Majority Leader Reid (D-Nev.) is using parliamentary moves to keep those two amendments from getting votes, once he lost on the Sessions and DeMint amendments. He probably will do what he has done often in the past: Call a cloture vote to end debate before the immigration amendments are brought to the floor.
Your phone calls may be the only things that can block this maneuver and force a vote.

The most important Senators to call are those who voted YES to kill the Sessions E-Verify amendment.
Especially if the Democrats’ phones are ringing off the hooks Thursday morning, they may tell Sen. Reid that he needs to allow an honest vote on our amendments.

Sen. Schumer (D-N.Y.) who widely takes credit for getting the first mass amnesty passed in 1986 is leading the effort to block the amendment by Sessions (R-Ala.). It is pretty clear that Democrats are being urged by Party leaders to table the amendment so E-Verify can still be used as a bargaining chip for passing an amnesty this fall.
GET YOUR TALKING POINTS FOR THE PHONE CALL: Please go to your Action Buffet corkboard where you will see a phone note if one or both of your Senators voted against the E-Verify amendment last winter.
You must pound these Senators for refusing to open up federal contracting jobs to returning veterans and other unemployed Americans.
Ask them if 9.5% unemployment is high enough yet to turn against illegal aliens and stand in favor of unemployed Americans.

Thanks to all of you who made emergency calls to Senators this morning. You won.
Sen. Sessions (R-Ala.) after multiple failures finally got approval of an amendment to require E-Verify for all employees on federal contracts. We got 53 votes.
Sen. DeMint (R-S.C.) won on an amendment to require the completion of 700 miles of fencing along the Mexican border. We got 54 votes.
Let’s celebrate later because we have two more opportunities this afternoon to tighten enforcement against illegal immigration and to help unemployed Americans to get jobs.
PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATORS NOW to urge that they vote for these two amendments to the Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill:
Sen. Grassley’s (R-Iowa) amendment to allow all employers voluntarily to use E-Verify to check the legal status of all their existing employees. Amazingly, federal law currently prohibits a company from checking on employees that were hired in the past before they started using E-Verify for new hires. There is no good reason to tie the hands of employers who want to make sure that all of their jobs are filled with U.S. citizens and legal immigrants.
Sen. Vitter’s (R-La.) amendment to re-instate the “no-match letter notification” system in which the Social Security Administration alerts all employers of all employees whose SS numbers don’t match records and orders the companies to fire employees who can’t resolve the discrepancies.

Friends, we have very little time. Pick up the phone now and call your Senator to ask for YES votes on these two amendments which will open up hundreds of thousands of jobs over the next year alone to returning veterans and other unemployed Americans.

If so, you will want to lambaste the Senator for voting against returning veterans and other unemployed Americans. Then, say that the Senator can redeem him/herself this afternoon with YES votes on Grassley and Vitter amendments.

TRAITOR Robert McNamara died finally this past Monday at the age of 93.
While McNamara will most likely be remembered for being JFK’s Secretary of State and the man who devised the strategy to lose the Viet Nam War and sacrifice our young men in a senseless conflict, one should recall that prior to his “public service” McNamara came from Ford. However, do not think that absolves McNamara from his lifetime of gross “public disservice!”
May it be known the Ford Foundation destroyed American education. That in part is why we are so dumb.

PS McNamara was a member of John F. Kennedy’s cabinet which tried to push President Kennedy into invading Cuba–that included McNamara. Had Kennedy not resisted the unanimous thrust of his entire cabinet, the East Coast would look entirely different today. Miami would definitely not be there. Even Washington DC was within reach of those Cuban missiles.
The Cubans had four (4) nuclear missiles ready to launch on their beaches. Those nuclear tipped missiles were NOT under Soviet control. They were entirely under Cuban control, and Castro would have launched them had we attacked. In fact, those four nuclear missiles remained on Cuba after the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Kennedy did one thing right: He averted those four nukes being used on US. Indeed, JFK may have averted a thermonuclear war with the USSR.
PSS WE put Castro into power but THAT is another story.

Blast State Reps. That Helped Derail Anti-Sanctuary Bill
This is a special message for NumbersUSA members in Arizona.
Dear Arizona friends,
Before adjourning for the year on July 1, the Arizona House defeated a bill (HB 2280) authored by Sen. Russell Pearce that would have cracked down on pro-illegal alien “sanctuary” laws and aided in immigration enforcement by expanding the state’s trespassing law. The House voted 26-15 for the bill, five votes short of the 31 needed for passage. The Senate had approved the bill 16-11 earlier that day.
Although most Democrats were expected to oppose the bill, they were joined by three Republicans – Reps. McComish, Tobin and Jones. However, an incredible 19 members of the House did not vote on the bill at all. On the Republican side, these included six members – Reps. Driggs, Barto, Konopnicki, Crandall, Mason, and Queland. They were said to have physically left the Capitol building so they didn’t have to go on record as opposing HB 2280.
For years now, certain Republicans have fought good enforcement legislation, while at the same time denying their anti-enforcement nature. In fact, some even purported to be concerned about enforcement as they carried water for open-border groups and cheap-labor groups. Well, it’s time to hold those Republicans accountable for their actions.
Please call and email the nine Republican State Representatives below and blast them for either not voting or voting no on HB 2280.

- I can’t believe you voted no/didn’t vote on HB 2280, Sen. Pearce’s anti-sanctuary bill. How dare you! You were elected to help Americans, not illegal aliens.
- Your opposition to the bill will result in a continuation of sanctuary policies that protect criminals, displace benefits for needy Arizonians, and make it easier for unauthorized workers to compete for jobs with citizens and legal immigrants.
- Sanctuary policies directly violate Federal law and should have been made unlawful in Arizona. You chose not to do that. When were you, as an elected official, authorized to choose which laws the state will obey?
- The safe havens created by sanctuary policies make it easier for illegal aliens, including criminal aliens, to live undetected in Arizona. How many citizens, including officers of the law, have to die or be maimed before you will stand up and fight back?
- When public assistance agencies are prevented from inquiring about an applicant’s immigration status, benefits are distributed to ineligible illegal aliens. Don’t you understand? Sanctuary policies are displacing benefits for needy Arizonians in this terrible recession. And taxpayers are being forced to foot the bill.
- With skyrocketing unemployment, we need to employ every measure that makes it harder for illegal aliens to remain in the state and compete for jobs with citizens and legal immigrants. You, however, chose another course – protecting illegal-alien jobs.
- As a Republican, you obviously don’t care that the State Republican Party unanimously passed a resolution supporting Sen. Pearce’s bill. I guess you also don’t care that it was endorsed by numerous law enforcement organizations – at least those who haven’t had long-standing ties with open-borders groups and cheap-labor business lobbies. I guess you only care about getting re-elected. Do you really think that will be easy to do after your vote/failure to vote on a bill so critical to the people that elected you?

This legislation, in its original form as passed by the Senate a few days prior, was SB 1175. Rep. Driggs, a long-time opponent of immigration enforcement, derailed that bill’s chances by refusing to hear it in his committee. In order to keep the measure alive, Sen. Pearce placed the bill’s language on HB 2280, which had already passed the House and only needed a “concurrence” vote to clear the measure. The Senate passed HB 2289 on July 1, but when the House voted on the bill a few hours later, Republican opponents left the Capitol so they would not have to vote. |

Grant Arizona legislators WISDOM
Necessary to see through Deceptive Offerings
And the quagmire in accepting
The False “Bail Out” from the Obama Adminstration
Otherwise known as Obama’s “Stimulus Bill”
Which is a FRAUD!
It’s “Doublespeak”
That further binds & enslaves the people of Arizona
The source of the provisions for Arizona is Napolitano.
LORD, rise a Leader from among our State Legislators
To champion freedom & prosperity
With the power and the will
To grant relief from the Wrong-doings of the Napolitano Adminstration
To force transparancy in the budget of the State and
The Secret Budgeting power of the Arizona Governor’s Office
To cause “Change” making the Arizona budget processes transparent
And
Moreover
Restoring all budgeting power to the State Legislature.
LORD, make public the secrets of the Janet Napolitano Administration and
All the wrong-doings of Napolitano’s Adminstration.
LORD, restore the State of Arizona from the damage Janet Napolitano
Has done
Has allowed
LORD, thank you for answering our petition and granting relief
