Stop R-O-P-E from stripping workplace enforcement

Majority Leader Reid, President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel (R-O-P-E) are expected to strip workplace enforcement provisions from the Homeland Security spending bill — just as they did from the Stimulus bill back in February. Click here for Roy’s blog.
We need a wildfire of activism immediately to raise public awareness and pull back the curtain on ROPE’s backroom dealings before they strip the spending bill of these four amendments:

1. SEN. SESSIONS AMENDMENT: Authorizes E-Verify permanently and mandates that ALL people working on the government contract would have to be put through E-Verify, even those who have previously worked for the company for years.
2. Requires the completion of the 700-mile fence along the Mexican border by the end of 2010.
3. SEN. VITTER AMENDMENT: Activates a no-match notification system that not only informs employers of all their workers with bad Social Security numbers but tells them to fire the ones who can’t correct the problem.
4. SEN. GRASSLEY AMENDMENT: Allows any business, non-profit or government to voluntarily run all their existing employees through E-Verify.

We need a million signatures on our petition to R-O-P-E by the end of the week to put ROPE on notice that the country is watching this time. Please persuade your talk show hosts to make this story their cause this week!
With your help, we can pass these amendments into law and start freeing up 8.3 million jobs (currently held by illegal workers) for U.S. citizens and legal immigrants.
